2012 Ad Forecast Overview

View Nielsen Global AdView's roundup of advertising market forecast numbers, which details how various market intelligence bodies believe the major markets will perform in 2012.

New this month, Warc predicts Russia (16.5%) and India (14%) will be the leaders in ad spend growth in 2012.

With strong performance from the BRIC countries, also including China (11.5%) and Brazil (8.5%), Warc forecasts 2012 global ad spend to increase +5.4 percent when compared with 2011, also buoyed by stronger performances in the UK and US.

The UK, hosts of the London 2012 Olympics, is poised also to benefit from increased ad spending during the European Cup Football competition—with Warc forecasting a 4.2 percent growth for the UK in 2012.

The US, at a forecasted 4.1 percent increase, is expected to benefit from political advertising spend, with the presidential elections taking place in November.

Ad markets of major markets within Western Europe, on the other hand, will continue to struggle—with a 1 percent growth forecasted for Germany, 0.8 percent in France, and -0.2 percent in Italy.
